Here are some photos of our amazing bags.
We have been studying Motif printing.
After studying and sketching fossils, we were able to design our own printing design. This was then etched onto a special foam tile and we used fabric paint to print our designs.

The children have done an amazing job completing their vehicles!
They used new skills and a lot of perseverence and problem solving in order to complete them, following their designs and plan carefully!

Forest School 7th February 2022

Forest School was very muddy today! We kept warm by keeping busy and enjoyed hot chocolates cooked on the stove!

More fun at Forest School today!
We started off today being little squirrels collecting sticks for winter, but we had to watch out for the Buzzard, Polecat and the Fox!
We heard a story called Pip and Little Egg which inspired us to decorate the trees!
We tested out our own bird kites in the wind!
We finished with a silly banana song!

Year 5 are official published poets! These are our poems based on the theme 'This Is Me.' We used similes, metaphors, alliteration and personification to create fabulous poems which describe ourselves.

Today in Forest School we had to collect 'woolly worms' for our baby bird, fly together in flocks to escape the hawk, made birdy artwork and finished with a toasted marshmallow treat!

The Year 5 classroom has been taken over this half-term and transported into space! We are immersing ourselves with science fiction stories by Andrew Norriss; investigating the Mars Rover in Computing; learning about the sun, moon and Earth in Science and writing space metaphors in French.

Year 5 are now experts on budgeting and spending on 'needs not wants' first. We had a brilliant and really informative morning learning through role play, stories and money facts.
Mary's Little Lamb - Recorder Performance

Year 2 have been practising to play their next piece - 'Mary's Little Lamb'.
They play this in two parts, taking the part of the lamb when they aren't playing their recorder!
Lancashire Owls and Hawks Visit

Year 2 were treated to a wonderful visit from The Lancashire Owls and Hawks society this morning.
We all enjoyed hearing even more information about these amazing birds!
We stroked them and even hold one of them!

This week we tested 3 different ways to join a wheel axle to a chassis.
We then decided which we liked best, which we found easiest and which would be the strongest.

We tried out our balancing skills in PE today.
We played Balancing Musical Statues and 'Worms and Ponds'.

Today we had a close look at vehicle toys to find out how they work.
We found that the wheels moved round when we pushed.
The wheels were attached to an axle which was attached to the chassis of the vehicle.
In our next lesson we are going to test out different ways of attaching wheels axles to a chassis.

Today we practised how to calculate multiplications using arrays which we made out of multilink cubes.
We counted in the equal groups to find the total.

We had a great time in Forest School this afternoon!
We had to impagine we were squirrels and watch out for the Buzzards and Polecats in our forraging game.
Then we created spiders and other mini--beasts out of clay and natural materials.
We ended with a camp fire song.

We loved our Science lesson at Priory learning about soluble and insoluble substances. We learnt about different chemical warning symbols and all had to wear goggles when using the different substances.
Forest Schools - Anglo Saxon Bread Making

Year 5 had an amazing finish to their Forest Schools sessions this week - baking bread using the open fire just like the Anglo Saxons used to. We also planted saplings in the Forest Schools area to create a hedge of hawthorn.
