We just love having our class pets. We take good care of them each day, feeding them their breakfast and keeping their house clean.
They enjoyed cuddles with some of us in class during our assembly too!

Year 2 enjoyed another great session in Forest School.
Today they practised how to create a spark using a flint and steel and then made their own little fire.
They used charcoal from last week's fire to make their own drawings and togther foraged for pine needles which we boiled on the fire and drank pine needle tea at the end of our session!

Year 2 had a fantastic time in Forest School! They worked togther to create beautiful outdoor artwork!
They enjoyed taosting marshmallows on the campfire to end our session.

Huge congratulations and well done to Jessica for donating her hair to The Little Princess Trust over the weekend and also for riding her bike all the way around the Guild Wheel for 'Freshfields Animal Rescue' charity and raised £118!

Today Year 2 had tennis coaching from a specialist coach from South Ribble Tennis Centre.
We have great fun having a go at lots of new skills!

On Friday, the children arrived at school to find that our new class pets had arrived! How exciting!
So here they are! Meet Marshmallow and Chocolate!
They are brothers who we have adopted. They have temporary names Marshmallow and Chocolate which we might stick to or could change after a vote next half term!

We had a lovely afternoon creating tree art in our outdoor wildlife area.
It was a really lovely way to end our amazing topic!

Year 2 can find their way around the Wind in the Willows by following the signs around our wildlife area!

This half term, we have been learning about the religion of Judiasm and how Jewish familes spend their special time together each week during the Shabbat, the holy day.
Last week, the children had a lovely time making models Challah bread out of salt dough.

We have made a great start to our puppets!
First we had to practise our sewing tenchinques before we could make a start on our puppets.
Today we have been cutting out the main shape and started adding the extra features.

We have created a fantastic Bug Hotel ready for some new visitors!

We have also planted our new Wild Cherry tree donated by South Ribble Council.

Today we made our vehicles!
We added axles and wheels to our boxes and added the finishing touches.

This afternoon, we made a start on the making part of our vehicles project!
We had great fun covering our boxes to make them look more like farm vehicles.
We had to measure carefully and think about the shape we wanted the vehicles to be.

This afternoon we had a go at testing out different ways of joining wheel axles to a chassis in preparation for our making session next week.

We have loved learning about children in another village called Mugurameno in Zambia, Africa.
To complete our learning, we made a model of the villlage both in school and at home!

We made the most of the snow this morning! We couldn't make snowmen so we made snow angels instead!
