Headteacher Welcome
Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Penwortham Primary School and Pre-School – a place where happy children achieve.
It is a real privilege to be Headteacher of our wonderful school. Penwortham Primary is a happy, ambitious and caring community school at the heart of Penwortham, where children are known, valued and encouraged to be the very best they can be.
Our values – Aspire, Belong, Care and Discover – are at the heart of everything we do. We want every child to feel that they belong, to be happy and safe, and to have the confidence to aim high, embrace new experiences and take pride in their achievements.
We believe that happy children learn best. Our dedicated staff know our children well and create a nurturing and inclusive environment alongside high expectations for learning. Through an exciting, ambitious curriculum, we develop curious, confident and resilient learners who are ready for the next stage of their journey.
Life at Penwortham extends far beyond the classroom. Children enjoy Forest School, OPAL play, sport, pupil leadership, enrichment opportunities, sensory suite and our welcoming state of the art library, with plenty of opportunities to discover their talents and make wonderful memories. Our commitment to the whole child is reflected in our myHappymind Bronze accreditation, Eco-Schools Green Flag and School Games Platinum Award.
Most importantly, there is a real sense of family and belonging here. Our children, staff, governors, families and PTFA work together to make Penwortham a special place to learn and grow. With our own Pre-School and wraparound care from 7:30am–6:00pm, we are proud to support children and families throughout their primary journey.
A website can only give you a glimpse of who we are. The best way to experience Penwortham is to come and see us in action – meet our children, talk to our team and experience the warmth, happiness and ambition of our school for yourself.
I would be delighted to welcome you and your family to Penwortham Primary School.
