A huge welcome to Year 2!

It is our absolute pleasure to welcome your child to Year 2. We are looking forward to a wonderful year together and are excited to work in partnership with you to support your child.

Year 2 is a year where pupils grow in independence and confidence. Our classroom is a welcoming, sunny, caring, and captivating environment where we champion curiosity, hands-on learning, teamwork, creativity, and a positive attitude to learning.

As we begin the new school year, please find some helpful information below.

Learning in Year 2

Pupils in Year 2 follow a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum that builds on prior learning from Year 1 and prepares them for the increasing expectations of moving into Key Stage 2 at the end of the year. Alongside English and mathematics, pupils study a wide range of subjects including science, history, geography, art, design and technology, RE, computing, music, physical education, PSHE, alongside Forest School.

Learning is designed to develop pupils’ knowledge, confidence, resilience and independence, supporting them to become reflective and motivated learners.
