World Book Day

World Book Day 2022

This year to celebrate World Book Day we will be hosting our own Reading Week with a number of celebrations all of which we hope will promote Reading for Pleasure! We will host our World Book Day on Friday 4th March when children are invited to come to school dressed as a character from a book of their choice or in the colours of the flag for their class story.
Secret Story teller – each day we will post a video of a secret story teller. Who is the Secret Story Teller? You can guess along at home by checking out the school website –‘Our Curriculum/English/World Book Day’.Penwortham Primary School: Come and share a story!
Reading Around the World - Each class will also have a new book to read which is set in another country. This will bring together some geography knowledge and English.
As a special treat we are also having a special World Book Day Lunch on Friday 4th March with a menu inspired by well known children’s literature (details sent separately).
World Book Day vouchers for all pupils will be issued ready for use in participating stores.
