Due to the retirement of the current postholder we are looking for a friendly and outward looking person to take responsibility for operational aspects of the future development, and day to day management of Penwortham Primary School.   A background in an educational setting is not an essential requirement; your business development, management experience, skills and competencies must enable you to work innovatively and contribute to the development of Penwortham Primary School in the future.

As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to strategic planning and operational aspects of future direction of our school. You will contribute to the strategic development of the school to ensure we deliver best value for our pupils both now and in the future. You will also have responsibility, under the direction of the Headteacher, for all aspects of the non-academic operational management of the school, including effective human resources, financial planning and management.

We are looking for someone who is organised, has an eye for detail, with experience of managing finances, and who is innovative and able to contribute to the development of our school. This is a busy, interesting and wide-ranging role with a focus on budget preparation and control, financial management, procurement, staffing and supporting the school leaders to achieve the aims of the School.

This is a person facing role and you will meet and help both parents and children on a daily basis. You will be the first point of contact for all stakeholders, visitors and contractors and must uphold the schools ethos, values and aims.  Reporting to the Head Teacher, the Business Manager will be key to helping deliver the strategic business development of the school, including all aspects of financial management.
